WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO?
Harrigen Ltd is a company set up by Phil Gennard and Rob Harris to provide testing of edge protection systems to the BS EN13374:2013+A1:2018 standard.
The testing confirms whether or not an edge protection system will fulfill the necessary requirements of the standard. Installers and suppliers of edge protection need to be able provide evidence of conformity to the standard.
The testing includes the Dynamic Swing Bag Test required for Class B systems; using mesh panel systems or designs incorporating tube and fitting. Harrigen is able to confirm static load requirements (deflection) for class A & B by testing. Harrigen will also test to confirm downward serviceability loads.
Phil and Rob have extensive experience of working at height in a construction environment and in the use of designed Edge Protection systems. With a combined knowledge, totaling some 50 years, clients can be assured that the testing is delivered competently and strictly in accordance with the Standard.
"As a member of FASET, at JobsSafe Ltd, we recognised the need to test our class B Edge Protection Systems. The dynamic testing was carried out by Harrigen and we found them to be really easy to deal with and very professional in the way they produced the evidence that our system passed the test. The report and videos mean we can easily prove our Edge Protection system meets the requirements of BS EN 13374."
“We were involved in the construction of a portal frame storage facility for Scottish Water. The Temporary Works team identified the roof pitch was greater than 10°, which defined it as a class B roof and therefore required a dynamic test. We were really happy with the test result and the way in which Harrigen worked. The certificate, report and video all confirm that our design conforms to EN 13374. The quality of the evidence created by Harrigen is very professional and something that we will offer clients without hesitation".
